Player Guide
Arrival & Check-in:
Athletes may check-in between 8am-10am on the day of their category at the player registration. Check-in is located at the entrance to the building, where players will receive their credentials and player souvenir bag.
All athletes must also check-in on each of the days that they are playing.

Tournament App:
The Barcelona Pickleball Open will use the official RAQT app during the tournament to provide players with a streamlined and efficient experience.
Participants will receive real-time text updates throughout the tournament and have access to live brackets, draws, results, and the latest tournament information. You can download the app via the links below:
Food & Water
Water will be provided at water fountains and filler stations throughout the building. Food will be available each day for all athletes and spectators to purchase, at the Bar in the building, and at the Food Truck area at Village zone.
Referees:
The plan is to referee all the finals! The plan, of course, is subject to change due to schedule issues that could arise.
Approved Paddles:
Only paddles on the USA Pickleball Approved Paddle List can be used at the Barcelona Open.
If the paddle is on the USA Pickleball Approved Paddle List when you arrive at your court for your match, your paddle can be used for that match.
Players are responsible for verifying their paddle is on the Approved Paddle List and may be asked by the referee to show them a screenshot of their paddle on the approved list if the referee does not recognize the paddle.

Format:
Elimination table in the group round:
• Categories with two groups: the eight qualify for the quarterfinals, the first plays against the fourth and the second against the third from the other group.
• Categories with 3 groups: The first two finishers in each group advance to thequarterfinals. The two best third parties advance to the quarterfinals and face the two best first teams.
• Categories with 4 groups: The first two classified go to the quarterfinals.
The matches will be played:
• Round Robin Phase (Group Phase): Only 1 game of 11 points, with a difference of 2 points.
• Playoff to semi finals: 1 game of 15 points, with a difference of 2.
• Final and 3rd place: The best of 3 games of 11 points, with a difference of 2.
Delays/No show: The Competition Judge will determine the loss of a match in case of significant delay (10 min.) or no show.
Player injury: an injured player may be replaced as long as he or she has not started any
match in the category.
Cancellation or modification of category: If a week before the tournament, there are less than 6 players/couples in a category, the organization may decide to cancel or combine the category with another of a lower level (example: combining the mixed 5.0 with 3.5), informing and/or returning the money to the participants, if applicable.
Image transfer: Registering for Barcelona Open means accepting the image rights transfer policy; anyone who does not want to be recorded must contact the organization.
DUPR:
All results at Barcelona Open will be entered in DUPR.
Prize Money:
All 5.0 category tournament will have prize money:
- First Place: 400€
- Second Place: 200€
- Third Place: 100€
Practice Courts / Open Play:
Courts will be available for open play at village zone all day, if there are not other events there.
Wheelchair: Hybrid Rules
A hybrid team is one standing and one wheelchair player. There is no limitation on the rating, however, it is highly recommended that the wheelchair and standing player are compatible in ability levels.
